"There is no greater purpose in life than service to others"
Donna's unique approach to the age-old art of riding focuses on the principals of how the body of the horse and rider work best, as both independent elements and when integrated in a partnership.
Using cutting-edge imagery, ground exercises, Centered Riding techniques, and the foundation principals of classical dressage, Donna produces fluid, graceful correctness in riders and fluid, balanced movement in client's horses. Advanced instruction covers speed and topographical biomechanics for riders interested in eventing and endurance riding.
Donna's techniques and teaching methods are extremely effective, enabling
the average rider to significantly improve their own skills and
the performances of their equine partners.
Her approach to riding is holistic, treating the rider and horse as a dynamic whole, she introduces various exercises and body work to enable the rider to become dramatically more aware of her/his body. Desirable changes are implemented and the effect they have upon the horse is pointed out to the rider in real time.
Next Donna focuses on developing the horse's balance and strength, through the use of correct muscular patterns; patterns which afford the horse greater performance by allowing an increased range of motion as well as a greater comfort level in the horse's body. Owners are also taught to look for and "see" small postural or movement changes in their horse; early indicators their horse(s) may benefit from such equine support services as chiropractic, bio-scan and massage. Donna's teaching goes that "extra mile," as she unerringly steers clients toward a broad range of educational resources, recommending attendance at outside clinics and equine expositions, and supportive, explanatory industry materials. She will even recommend lessons from other instructors as her clients interests and their horse's needs dictate.Learning to ride is a dynamic process; the most important skill - awareness, the secret to success- enjoy the journey!
